Orange Jeep

I am planning on painting my Jeep this summer. I've always wanted it Orange. Been looking at a bunch of shades but not sure what I should do. I figured this is a great place to ask since Jeep people are straight forward on opinions. The color I was looking into was Tangelo Pearl (House of Kolor). I am not a fame of the typical burnt Orange that is Jeep Stock. Anyone else have any opinions or photos of Orange Jeeps.

Open to any shade of Orange and any other ideas.

I would find a local paint shop to supply your paint. I'm not a fan of the online stuff. Ask for samples then take them outside and put them up to your Jeep and see what you like best. You'll be comparing samples but there will always be that color that stands out to YOU, not anyone else.

See the second link in my signature for some info.

I have a friend of mine willing to paint it. As well as I am going to help in and a few other friends. I have seen some sample and the Tangelo is sticking out to me. However samples look different when they are on a bigger scale. I am going to try and photoshop different shades in and go from there. But I think it would be neat to see if other people have Orange jeeps and see what they look like. I just don't want something you see every day. Rather be outside the box on this one.

I am a fan of General Lee orange on just about anything. :-)

I painted a buddy of mine's 86 GMC 2500 with this stuff last fall and it looks great:

Omaha Orange Urethane Basecoat Clear Coat Kit Featuring Paintforcars Starfire Clear Coat: Automotive Paint, Auto Paint, Car Paint

His truck just needs an 01 on the doors and a flag on the roof. :-)

House of Kolor Speedshapes - Preperation & Undercoat

I was looking at the Tangerine. And I am right there with you Destro. General Lee is pretty bad ass.

The Tangerine is too close the the current JK burnt orange if you ask me. I guess I am not a fan of the candy colors on a Jeep. Too hard to touch up trail dammage, but you may not want to take my advice- my YJ is painted with Rustoleum ($15 paint job) - equal parts gloss black and aluminum to make a cheap pewter. :-)

Touch-ups with airbrush go right on and it turned out a nice mettalic semi-gloss:

I do like Orange , Jeep or Ford Orange don't appeal to me but I do like the Orange on Kabota tractors though . Its just hard to keep shades like that from fading quickly if left outside a alot.

Very true about the color. This is why I am asking ya know. Rather have some other Jeepers opinions. Never thought about the whole touch up thing. Good Point.

Never thought of the Kabota Orange. I'll have to look into that.

Sunburst Orange ii Metallic on the Chevrolet Avalanche is GORGEOUS!!

You really need to see it in person IMHO.

I'm also a huge fan of Orange and I WILL paint one of my Jeeps this color some day!!

I once factory ordered a 2001 TJ and I chose Amber Fire for the color. It was pretty rare (only available for 2001 and 2002) and was virtually identical to Prowler Orange. Anyway, that Jeep got positive comments from dozens and dozens of onlookers--at stop lights, in gas stations, all over the place.

I'm a big fan of orange, especially when it comes with blue.
Seriously though, I've always thought Hugger Orange would look great on a Jeep.

I like orange. I'm not a huge fan because not all orange looks fine. I really like brownish oranges. Yellow/Oranges also appeal a bit too, probably my pyro side. I checked out that house of kolor link and the Root Beer color stood out to me on the brown side and the Pagan & Spanish golds stood out for the pyro side.

Maybe mixing Cocoa Pealr with Cinnamon?

For me, I really like the Cocoa Pearl to Root Beer to Black Gold shades... mmmm...

My Jeep is the typical dark green with quite a few black mods with small silver sections (such as black rims with silver lugs, black bumper with silver D-rings.) I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to change the base color, though I may modify the shade of green. I kinda wish I had 2 so I could have a brown one too!

Checked out the Sunburst, not a fan of that. To dull and gold for me.

The hugger Orange is really nice, from what I can see it looks kinda dull in none sun light It however does look pretty awesome on a Jeep 71 CJ-5 by Terry S. of Blyth Ontario Canada - Quadratec

This would be pretty cool/bright if I could figure out the name.Inferno Orange - Page 3 - 2011 Camaro ZL1 Camaro Forum / Camaro SS and V6 Forums - Camaro5.com Hopefully the link works. But it is the truck from "Rake"

I also am a fan of orange. I liked the impact orange Jeep had a few years ago. If Jeep offered a nice orange currently, I probably would have bought it instead of the green of my newest Jeep.
