Outer Tie Rod Passenger Side Question, Need HELP!

I recently had some vibrations once I hit 45mph. Took to SEARS to get rotation and balance taken care of before trouble shooting. SEARS tech says I need an Outer Tie End ROd for the right/passenger side. Went to the auto part store and and they can do the part for $100.00 vice the $250.00 from SEARS. Anyways I took some pictures of what is wrong. basically when jacked up, you can wiggle the tire from side to side w.about 1/4inch play on it. Do I need to replace the entire tie rod end or looking a little closer is the part just a ball joint that I can replace. I have a JSM and Haynes but cannot distinguish on what it is. The guy at the auto parts store says I need to replace the whole thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't trade out bad steering gear for junkyard steering gear. Trade bad for potentially worse? Might wanna grab some brake pads while your out there too!

for 16 bucks, its worth a try. versus $100-140. brake pads arent in the same category at all.

bring a gear puller. make sure the joints look good before you grab it.

the XJ upgrade is only for the driver side link the pass side is still the same bar. You'll need a new tie rod from the steering box to the knuckle and for the money I'd get this.

TJ, XJ, ZJ Serious Steering, A better 1 Ton upgrade for your Jeep. (84-01 XJ, 97-06 TJ, 93-98 ZJ) [SSUTK] - $285.00 : Serious Offroad Products, To get there, you need to Get Serious

For only a little more money you can buy the Currie steering setup.
