Paint factory cloth seats

ok i have a 2000 with the ugly green/red checkered pattern on the seas. i want my seats to be black. can i use dupli color fabric/vinal spray paint right onto the fabric? or can i just use regular spray paint. will there be any cracking in the fabric will it last? if i sit in my seats and it rains will the paint seap into my clothes?

i've never heard of painting the fabric, it flexes and stretches, and is absorbant. i can't see it working at all, and i could see it getting on clothes as well, buy new seats. original or aftermarket
