Paint flares... Check!

Here's my short summarization of painting the flares on my TJ i got this week...

Credit goes to Dragonii

1. Bought some Dupli Color Bumper Coating and Adhesion Promoter
2. Taped and garbage bagged everything not wanting to be painted (couldn't get those stupid fenders to come off so whatever)
3. Prepped with soap and water
4. Trial and error spray painting the first bumper, got the hang of it, and then sprayed all of them.
5. Let dry and remove all the tape and bags

Looks great! And thanks for showing me what my Jeep would look like without the hardtop! Hope to have a soft top bought for next year.

Autozone and Advance Auto Parts had both. I'd say go to one of those first before trying your luck at walmart or a hardware store.

When I painted my flares originally, I used the adhesion promoter. I do believe it works.

Looks great. Another trick is to quickly hit the plastic with a broad tip torch. Does a great job of burning off the oxidation and making them look new again.
