paint matching help

Hi all,

I am purchasing the PS fenders soon and will be painting them myself. I am interested in doing a body color as opposed to just painting them black. I am trying to match it as closely as possible so that it doesn't look off.

I have a 2004 silver TJ

My question is, has anyone had experience with trying to match the silver body color and know what type of spray paint they used and can make a recommendation?

Ok i assume you mean Poison Spyder fenders??

First i would not buy "Color matched" spray paint from an online store. How do they know what plant your vehicle was made in or which batch of paint it was painted with... They Dont! If you want to have any chance at it matching ESPECIALLY silver you need to go to an autobody shop and have them pull up your color code and go through their variant deck to find a suitable match on that particular color. On 99% of the colors there are several variants of the color. I dont care what anyone tells you, paint out of an aerosol can will never match or have the durability that automotive paint does. Its a waste of money imho. Oh, im a painter by trade

Well I have no interest in professional paint. If I was, I have a few friends who own a powder coat company that could easily match.
My interest is in whether anyone did use an aresol and found one that matched better than others.
A rattle can will suit my needs as nothing is durable enough for what I do and I expect touch ups and want something I can touch up myself

Look at "touch up direct" on line. They have a bunch of colors and they matched my color, Amber Fire, really good! They sell the colors in full sized spray paint cans. Awesome company
