Paint Prices

I'm replacing a fender and grill on my jeep and the replacements will need to be painted. Anybody had to have this done and can give a ballpark on the cost to paint a fender and grill? The shop would just need to prep and paint, no removal or install of parts.

Well it all depends on the color, the brand, and the shop. PPG and Dupont will be your number 1's for professional paint. I'd say they should be able to shoot it with a quart so call the paint store and price a quart of your paint code paint. Now, you also have to keep in mind you will need activator and hardner for it, plus clearcoat if yours is clearcoated. Shop labor can vary but I would think since you are in the same area as me 250 or so wouldn't be out of line if you supplied the material. If you take it to a shop and have them turnkey it it could either be less or more.

I pretty much wanna drop off the parts and pick em up. Parts will most likely be new, primered parts. Maybe bare metal, havent decided on fenders yet.

K, if bare then you have primer/sanding involved....I'd say your looking at 300-700 depending on the shop

I was quoted $1500 for my hood. I'll just live with the cracking clear coat.

You'll probably be a lot cheaper if they are off the Jeep and already preped.

My hood had an S scratched over most of the hood and the paint is peeling really badly because of this. I was quoted two prices:

1) Toyota dealership where I purchased the jeep - $800
2) Jeep dealership - $550

I'm going to get a couple more estimates from a high school/college and another body shop that was recommended.

I can't imagine spending $1,500 for a hood, I would use spray paint before I did that. I'm not even willing to spend $550. :O
