Krylon Fusion paint in satin black.... you can find it at the Evil Empire (walmart). No sanding involved... Just clean em with soap ad water, then again with mineral spirits, and spray.

When I got my Jeep I thought the same thing and didn't like the faded look. However, I decided to experiment before I painted and I lucked out.

I used the generic "Tire Shine" from Auto Zone and it really looked good. Basically, I sprayed it on a rag and applied it generously to the flares being very careful not to touch the paint. I did this 3 months ago and it still looks good today despite a dozen carwashes and rainstorms.

I'm so convinced I decided not to paint them.
