Painting Tj grill

Hi everyone ... haha
I was thinking about painting my grill black, because it has some chips and scratches and needs a good do over. I also thought it might give it a new look as well. I was kinda looking for advice from people who have done this, and if they liked it or not. Also what they found worked good, as in paint or bedliner?
And if anyone who did this with a silver jeep could post a pic so I can get an idea how it looks, would be very awesome! Thanks

pics of mine

I painted the grill,
sand it down with 220 grit,
take off the light bezels, if you don't want them painted,
mask the wheel wells, drape some plastic over the engine,
put some plastic behind the grill, or some paper bags, 2 upright works well
use light coats and wait til it's completely dry before spraying more coats.
I painted the bumpers too. I want to paint a bug stripe over the front of the fenders and hood.
USE A BETTER BRAND THEN DUPLICOLOR! I had better results with the wal-mart brand then duplicolor, and the wal-mart brand was a dollar cheaper.

Rustoleum here aswell but I also did the front of my hood and front of the fenders. I felt it brought it all in together instead of looking like you have a black grill as a replacement part.

Haha That'll do it. I hit a deer in mine and screwed up the fender (which was a brand new fender) and scratched up the grill. It gives me a reason to pick up a set of tube fenders, but man I was not a happy camper the night it happened haha.

Haha thanks guys. Couldn't sleep after the accident so I spent a lot of time in my garage. Took me a total of four days to rebuild it and have it back onto the road. Lost two days because my wife wouldn't let me into my garage on the weekend haha

Man those all look really good. Been toying around with the idea of doing this. For those of you who used the Rustoleum, how is that holding up? That and have you noticed if dirt sticks into it?

I went with plastidip to make sure I liked the black. Will go back with bedliner if I ever get around to it.

Here's the pic. Exceeded my quota so had to delete some pictures. I'll eventually bother to upgrade my account. Also made angry eyes with the headlights.

Here's a full picture. Couple months later and only damage is where I got too close with a high power washer.

Sweet. I like it. I just painted the raised portion of my hood (also a yellow tj) and I like the way it looked. I am planning to also hit the grill, headlight holes, and the back of the hood where you painted yours in front of the windshield (which is good because I am a terrible painter and oversprayed that area like crazy).

All Rustoleum bedliner

rustoleum bedliner is boss! nice spray nozzle, even spray, dries black, not little brown flecks in it. powerwashed it real close, and it held up. no problems. where I used duplicolor, I noticed brown flecs in it, it powerwashed off, not satisfied with it.
