I'm in the same boat. I will be painting my polished alloy rims as soon as it warms up.

You can powder coat wheels. Plenty of people have had it done. Do a web search and there are a numbers of sites offering wheel powder coating. Powder coat is the bes as it will hold up the best. Plenty of people have also sprayed wheels and they should hold up. I have sprayed an old set of winter wheels on another vehicle and they have been fine for a number of years. Wheel paint is available in most auto parts stores.

powder coating shops will powdercoat anything, however, when it comes to aluminum wheels it can cause the metal to weaken and eventually crack. Cracking would not be good if you are outback wheelin pretty hard

Powder coating is great, but paint is cheap, it will hold up pretty well if you take your time with it, take them down to bare metal, clean the surface very very well before you paint. Duplicolor does make wheel paint.

I agree, half of the parts on my 600rr are powder coated, never had a problem.

The worst someone can do is try and paint them, if it doesn't work then there out $20 for paint and a couple hours time. If it turns out great then you can tell everyone that YOU did it.

Since they're aluminum, get them anodised.
