Paracord Grab Handles with a Bikini Top On?

So i made up my first set up grab handles out of paracord thanks to LilYeller's instructions and they turned out great. Unfortunately, i forgot that last week i put on my bikini top and the outsides of it velcro around the bar that the grab handle would go on. Anyone have a way of using grab handles while using a bikini top? I'd like to find a way to do it without having to cut slits in the bikini top and then having to stitch the top to reinforce the slits.

Thanks for any ideas on this!

As a note, i'm using the BesTop Bikini Top and no-drill header channel, if anyone else has that same set up. Not sure it matters but thought i'd add it!

I use my door surrounds with my bikini top so I can keep the grab handles and throw the doors on if need to.

how did you attach the door surrounds still? Mine wraps a velcro part around the size roll bars which is where the two locking bolts go through for the door surrounds... maybe we have a different top?

Mine attaches both ways, wrap the roll bar and velcro, or leave the door surrounds in and use the plastic along the edge to hook in it like your soft top would (assuming you have a soft top).
Here's a pic of the plastic I'm referring to, the velcro is also attached to it.

ohh gotcha. i have a soft top but it's rarely on anymore. i'll take a look when i get home. i just found a bestop bikini top install video on youtube that showed even just the velcro working with some handles so i'll have to try it out. if all else fails i'll go ahead and slap the door surround back on and use the plastic like you do. Thanks for the info and pic!

No problem.
The benefit to running the door surrounds with the bikini top, if you get caught in the rain, it keeps you dryer.

Ah good call. Rain isn't something i worry too much about now that i've moved from VA to San Diego, but when it does happen i'm certainly caught off guard. I'll see about what looks like it'll work best tonight.

thanks again!

Thanks again for the help! Got my grab handles put on this morning which had pretty tight tolerances and were a b*tch to put on. Opted to throw on the door surround and use that to hold the bikini top on the passenger side where the handle is. Couldn't get the velcro to go around it and still secure. My mother and girlfriend appreciate the help as much as i do!
