Passenger front seat?

I just picked up a 2002 Wrangler yesterday. My wife just noticed that the Passenger seat does not slide forward and lift up and out of the way when she pulls the tab to let passengers in the back. Is there a specific part needed to fix this? this is my 5 Wrangler and Ive never had this problem with any of them. Is there a manual release under the seat that will release the seat and allow it to pop up and out of the way so Rear passengers can get in?
Hope that made sense...
Thanks!
also my steering is a little loose compared to my other stock jeeps Ive owned,It drifts on the highway and the steering wheel is not straight, Could I just need an Aliignment or do you think my steering box may need to be adjusted?only has 59,000 miles on it with a 2" coil spacer lift. My other Jeeps were all stock and bought new, so I never had any problems with them.
Thanks again!

I'd be interested to hear about the steering as well, 02 wrangler with 60K, owned about 2 months now - steering has felt "loose" to me, but my previous vehicle was a 2008 Ford Focus with 14k on it - so I have been kind of chalking it up to being an older vehicle with higher miles.

Bump on the steering,

i assumed because my jeep was lifted that created the play in the steering wheel. I'm talking 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock play in the steering while, not to mention that the steering wheel isn't centered either.

Same here. Jay, owner of 4wdspecialties, sticker on my windshield , if you live near me and want some expert help, ask him, tell him Michael Little sent ya but anyway lol, he said it could be my steering box... Haven't checked it yet. Might take it when I get my tie rod in at 4wd parts.

I was thinking about tightening the screw on the steering box like some people have, But was going to have an alignment first. everything feels tight under there. but for 60,000 miles seems odd to wear out the steering box or anyother stock part. its never been heavily off roaded, Its in almost new condition for bieng a 2002.

Careful thightening that adjustment screw, if you overtighten it your steering box will start binding. Laters,

Older vehicle with higher miles has NOTHING to do with handling difference between a sporty little FWD car and a jeep. Ever hear the old saying "your comparing apples to oranges"?

Ill explain it to you. The ford focus is set up to be driven on the street it has little tiny street tires and street suspension. It has rack and pinion steering. the suspension does not move much, the steering is tight and crisp.

The jeep, on the other hand, is set up for off road. It has soft suspension made to move and flex. It has a steering arm, a drag link and tie rod. It has big tires, even stock, in comparison to the focus.

Completely different vehicles in all aspects. Sorry my friend, but you just cannot compare them to each other in any way.

I'm not trying to sound negative, just trying to educate you. To me your post is VERY frightening. I sure hope you don't try to drive your jeep the same way you drove your focus.

you might want to check the steering shafts were the meet mine was WORN out i did a temp fix of cutting a hose clamp and putting the pieces in kinda like shims. id say 3-4 months later it was still working fine with no slop so i've just let them stay in there since and its been 2yrs now with no probs i know what the right thing to do is but.... it works, i'm lazy, and money is in short supply so the new shaft will wait. hope that helps

it could be tightening down the gear box, which I hope it is since there is play in my 10-12 and I do need a steering alignment.

I doubt the steering wheel alignment will fix it, but i will be doing it myself this weekend I believe, or some other time when I get my tools in. But yea just like the guy said, careful about tightening down the gearbox too much, you could break it and I believe a new gearbox is $250?
