Passenger seat flips up????

Hey guys, I have had my TJ for several months now and have noticed that it is not to easy to put passengers in the back. I have to lean the seat forward with the small release on the back of the seat, or with the pull tab sticking out on the front, then slide the seat forward using the bar under the front. I was cleaning the other day and started noticing the frame under the passenger seat looks as though it is made to flip up. I cannot find anyway to release it at all. I know this is a stupid question, but can anyone shed some light on this for me?

there should be a lever or cord on the upper right hand side of the seat.
the seat should flip and slide all the way forward using that one.
pull the lever and see if you can shove it foreward, make sure nothing is in the way of the seat.

you have to get the right angle to pull it forward and flip, but you can do with just the abck lever on the back pass. side of the seat,

there is a cable that is attached to the lever, when i got my jeep it was missing, you can reach under from the back and feel where the cable should be connected , pull that towards the back and the seat will flip up...

My cable is busted so I have to do it manually.
From the front of the seat there is a little handle next to the slider release, push it down and pull the seat forward.

you shouldn't have to do anything but give it another tug after you fold the seatback forward. When I flip mine forward I use the little pulltab on the side of the seat I pull it once and the seat back foldsforward, then I give it another tug and it effortlessly folds and slides all the way up.

My drivers seat has the the little lever to release then it goes all the way up.

the cable is broken on mine too, the way TZ said work but it's a pain. I'll be looking to fix this soon. I guess the dealer would be the best bet to get that cable. I don't know how it is routed as I have the seat cover on it. I'm affraid it's going to be a pain to replace

AZTJ I officially LOVE you man!!! I almost dropped $200 to have someone fix my broken cable and after seeing your picture I went out and found the lever. I can now manually flip my seat forward. Next time I'm in AZ beers on me. Also if your in San Diego same rule applies.

Yea, my '06 tj has both front seats flip forward. There is a lever on the outside side of the seat up near the headrest. BEST FEATURE EVER! I don't think 2010's have it. My neighbor has one and I don't think she can flip the seats. I'll have to go investigate though...
