So many people buy Rubicons not realizing what they've got...

Yup. Standard LJ with a Rubicon sticker.

Still based on what I've seen around here...$8k ain't bad if its in good shape.

I think, based on my own lack of knowledge before I REALLY got into jeeps that many ppl dont even know what makes a Rubi a Rubi.

I always liked Jeeps from childhood but all of different "stickers" and badges didnt mean anything to me untill I joined this forum.

Looks like it has the Rubi wheels and tires. And the LJ has the Dana 44's, but no lockers. What gives it away that it's not a Rubi from the pictures? You can't see the skids or suspension or lockers...

Non-Rubi cues I see are LJ wheels and LJ narrow flares.

Note that the seller does not call it a Rubi in the ad...

Is not a rubi, from what I can see because those are not rubi wheels, also is missing the rock sliders that rubies get from factory, and rubies don't have the little fender flare behind the front fender flares... We need a picture from the center console to see if it is equipped with the locker switch.

Dear Sir: There is a debate on Wrangler Forum on whether you are selling a fake Rubicon or not on Craigslist. To settle this argument, could you please send a pictire of the center console to show if it had the locker switches that come stock on a Rubicon?

Thanks,
Doug

Just sent via e-mail...will post response, if any...

Those are NOT Rubicon wheels (or tires for that matter):

Standard:

Rubicon:

The rocksliders are also missing, and the flares are narrow.

Its a standard LJ with a Rubicon sticker.

And LJ's only come with a standard rear dana 44. Gotta have a Rubicon to get the front dana 44.

Well, it may still be legit. The scammers use the main city in the heading (Boston, in this case) and this lists Braintree, a suburb.

There is also a large Asian population in Braintree, which could explain the language mis-use.

I'll reply and report back.
