They say they add h.p. and m.p.g. How true is this or a scam.

Any trinket that claims to add horsepower and miles per gallon on a Wrangler should be treated with the utmost skepticism. They may work on other vehicles but for a Wrangler, they are pretty much worthless. There are much better things you can spend the money on.

Wire the money to me. I would have you pay pal it but my account is shut down as my pass port is on hold. Trust me I'm a prince in Djibouti. I'll send you a resistor right when the money arrives in my account. Remember to send an additional $500 to clear customs here, I'll send it back as a rebate

Edit: Yes they're a scam

Don't waste your money. If you want to tune something buy a diesel truck. For a jeep your money can be spent better ways.

If you have a vehicle with a diesel motor, then chips work great. But on our Jeeps they don't do much.

Hey, they work great,, chips, cold air intakes, and big coffee cans painted neon blue and mounted to your tail pipe. All of these things combined easily add 1/2 horsepower and at least 1/4 ft lbs of additional torque, at 6,000 RPMs .... Money well spent.. did I mention those fabulous rear air dams, ground effects and neon lighting? Add those three things and add another 1/4 HP, 1/8th ft lb, and 1/10 more MPG...

Is this amateur hour? I dunno about you but I build REAL rigs. Come talk to me when you bolt up electric super chargers, tornado in my intake, and Vtec stickers. If I really want a machine I pinstripe it.

It is interesting, though, that there's no proof that chips do anything but enrich those who sell them...YET, Wranglerforum advertises them. Hmmmm

The basic plug and play programmers and chips don't work. I have an SCT tuner for my 97 tj. And I am making my own tunes. It is night and day difference threw the power band. Also you can have some one else write them for you.

Ps I do have a lot done to my 4.0. But I do have a friend that we tuned his stock sport and he did make more power. Idk about mpg cause he can't stay out of the throttle.

I did not dyno befor. But it was a completely stock 97 4.0 with 130k miles. Now it's all built. I am running 33s with stock gears and I can burn them threw first and second with out using the breaks. I'm still trying to get more out of it then I will dyno. I will start a thread once I'm done with every thing I did and dyno sheets.

I just ask because if you had a before and after it would be more beneficial to see final results.

Ya I wish I would have but I blew my stock motor up. And I wasn't about to install another stock motor. So I built it. I have a few buddy's with stock ones. So I can dyno there's.
