Thanks! Yep only a body lift. No rubs. I do off road it some also. It will drop your shifter down through the floor a little and mess with your shifter boot, but that is cosmetic. That's my only complaint about body lifts. My son's YJ also has a 3" body lift. I don't have a good pic of it. I'll have him post also.

I have owned 2 Jeeps that have had 3" body lifts. Both have been daily driven & off roaded. I have not had any problems with the lifts. As far as people giving me crap...It's my Jeep, paid for with my money. I couldn't care less about someone trying to give me crap. If they don't like it, they can kiss my @$$. LOL

BTW: notice that all pics so far are riding on Goodyear Duratracs. So Harry...when you go to get your 33's give 'em some thought.

Very true. Personally I think I am gonna go with a 1.25 body lift and a 2inch suspension lift.

I will GUARANTEE he rubs or doesn't flex it out.... It does look like they wouldn't rub... but..... 10" wide rims too.. yep... would rub on full flex...

I have 4" of suspension with 2.75" bump stops and rubbed BAD.... hence the reason for the 1.25" BL...

Yes.... you may pick up some flack for a 3" BL from some folks....

I would not recommend any BL over 2" to any owner of any vehicle.... I owned a 3" once.... I learned my lesson

I did 1.25" BL to plan for a TT and clearance for my fenders under flex.... other than that... I would not do it....

Oh I know... Also I don't want to hijack this thread, an this is my last off topic post... The reason I bought a jeep was to out of the norm of me. Now I am trying to go out of the norm of jeepers. I am doing what I believe looks good. However there are some items that will never be on my jeeps. Chrome no. I just don't like it. Yet I like raised high jeeps but then again some go a little overboard. I don't want to do that, to an extent lol. then again I barely have money, so for now and the next few months maybe even next year I will be sitting low to the ground.

I would almost NEVER use a body lift. IMO, anything over 1.25" looks goofy. Just my opinion. The only reason to ever do it (1" BL), for me, would be to fit a bigger engine under the hood and that is just not necessary most of the time.

I think the best solution for fitting tires is the AEV highline fender/hood kit with coil spacers and/or spring lift. Yes, it is expensive, but it looks awesome and doesn't raise your center of gravity unnecessarily. This is a great solution if you want to look "stock" but perform like custom with big tires.

Anything more then 1.25" is a bad bad BAD idea! Who ever thought a 3" body lift was a good idea needs to have some sense knocked into them! And they just look stupid! Adding a small body lift actually does some good for our TJ's. But heres mine. 2" BB 1.25"BL on 33x10.5 KM2's

Correct, the 3" was all suspension (Savvy's custom Currie RJ). The 2" BB was not enough for where I offroad. I didn't rub due to the bumpstop but it was really limited as displayed in the below picture. There wasn't much flex there and you can see how close it was.

I got new shocks after the suspension lift but I think they are too long. I'm going to raise the shock towers in front to remedy that but that may lead to replacing them anyway. Until then, I have to add bumpstop extensions to the front to total 3" (yuck).

It's been off roaded several times and it has NEVER rubbed. In the situations I have put it in it HAS NEVER RUBBED. But then again I've never drove up a ramp to take pics.

If it works for you then keep rocking it. The thing I don't like about the bigger body lifts (besides the gap) is that you are not gaining any articulation or flex as far as suspension is concerned. Its just a short cut to putting on big tires and not having to do anything else.
I bet the suspension never rubbed because it won't flex enough to let anything rub with the body sitting 3" higher.

ok.... how about a 36" wall then....

Glad to hear that you do wheel it.... You should try a ramp... it can prove a lot of things for a person about their rig. It did for me.... like clearance issues and full compression/extension during flex. I had to make adjustments to stop mangling the top of my front fenders

The trails I do tend to push the limits of my suspension.....therefore wanted to give a solid testimony to what can be expected with full flex when disconnected.

This is my point.... 4" lift ( no BL in this pic ) at full flex.... I RUBBED! not just the flare, but the metal ABOVE of the flare and pushed my fender UP. This is a different angle of my avatar

Hence the reason for a total of 2.75" bump stop extension and 1.25" BL..... and this is NOT a ramp
