Piaa 540's replacement

Any thoughts on piaa 540 as a direct replacement for the stock head lights on my 01 tj? Can I just splice in the new light to all the existing wiring and by using the factory stem switch will it be as bright?

I have PIAA 520's on my 06 TJ for almost a year now. These were recommended by my local Jeep garage. He took me out front and showed me his rigs and that's what he is running. My Wrangler has all OEM Wiring/switch/relay and fuse. I have the harness that came with kit if someone is interested.

AFJeep, the stock wiring is barely adequate for the stock 55w fogs, you should run relays for the Piaa's as they are 85w, or you may be asking for a meltdown...

Agreed. I run a set of 135w IPFs and mine runs on completely seperate wiring with a relay to tue headlights. I would not trust the oem wiring for high powered lights.

Thanks, I think I'll stick with the 540's beings that they only 55w. They are a little smaller but with the 4 up on the rack I'll be good to go.
