Picked up my first TJ yesterday :) Pics attached.

I FINALLY DID IT!

After many long months of looking at JK's, I decided to go with a TJ for my first ever Wrangler purchase. I found a 2003 TJ Sahara 5-spd manual gem that I couldn't pass up on. It is Lt. Khaki with a dark Khaki soft top. It has really low miles, 32,000 to be exact, no accidents, rust free, garage kept and in pristine shape for a Michigan TJ. Needless to say, I am extemely happy with it. I've been peeking around this forum for a while now, so thank you for all the advice.

I purchased 2013 JK Sahara 'take off' wheels/tires for extremely cheap that I plan on plasti-dipping(see attached pic) and installing on my TJ with Spidertrax adaptors of course. I am not much of an off-roader personally, i'm mostly looking forward to cruising with the top/doors off in the summer but I want it to look good, of course!

I know people have installed 32" JK sahara/rubi tires without a lift and stock suspension, but I think i want to go with a small lift and not spend alot of $$$. So, I've been reading alot about the 2" Teraflex Budget Boost(without shocks). Is there any issues if I install these with my current oem shocks or am I going to need to purchase new shocks?

Also, is there an issue with the added weight of the 5th 32" JK sahara tire on the back of the trunk gate on the spare tire holder?

Thanks for all of the input. It feels great to finally be a part of the WranglerForum.

Matt

Thanks guys. I'll have to snap some pics when it warms up so I can clean the salt off her. Like the past senior citizen owner, this will probably be a full time mall crawler, which is why I wanted a pretty TJ, but to each their own right! I'm sure I'll hit up the trails later down the road.

I got a pretty good deal, I paid $13K for it. It's exactly what I wanted as far as options, color and of course condition.

Now the winch I believe is a Smittybilt XRC. Which I don't think is a great winch, but I'll take it. It sure looks better than a front bumper without a winch. I'll probably never use it .

Congrats. Enjoy.
Teraflex budget boost lift is great for what you are planning.
Dont worry about the bigger tire on swingdoor - it'll hold.
Keep it full of fuel...

Thanks for the compliments. I plan on starting around spring time. I'm still debating the BB lift idea, but definitely the wheels/tire upgrade will happen first. I will post pics after I do that.

I don't plan on transforming it a whole lot. Just minor tweaks, I will Plasti-dip the chrome headlight bezels to black. Maybe after market side steps down the road to replace the plastic ones it came with. But for now, I just want to get out there and enjoy it. Can't wait until it warms up!

I'm ordering a 2" Rubicon Express BB that comes with twin tube shocks (or mono option). Check out Allen, he's offering a pretty good deal on them.... AOR, is his screen name. Offer good for another 2 weeks I think...

And congrats on that beauty!

Once I take them off and install my 18" JK sahara wheels/tires, I'll have no need for the old wheels. Do you live in Michigan? If so, feel free to pick them up. The original wheels are in great shape, the tires not so much. They are still the original tires from 2003.

And again thanks for the all the compliments everyone. I'll post pics of the updates along the way. I can't do a whole whole until it warms up so I can start Plasti-dipping the wheels and headlight bezel.
