Plasti-Dip Flame Red Grill

Trying to get some pics of flame red tjs with a black grill. i have a ton of chips in my grill paint and wanted to change the look a little bit too. I figured plasti-dip is a good temporary way that i can see if i like it or not while also protecting my jeeep. might do a hood decal too. (like the poison spyder hood decals.)

I just did this. My grille looked like a B-17 returning from a bombing run over Nazi Germany. I used Dupli-color Bed Armor (it has Kevlar!). Did the winch plate, too. I just masked everything off and sprayed (yes it comes in a rattle can--Advanced Auto Parts for $9.99/can) it with several coats. No need to remove grille. Took headlights out also (painted the bezels with Krylon just for fun. Looks great! I'm gonna to the last three or four inches of the hood (also pock marked) and the A-pillars and the windshield surround. All I did was run over the paint with a Scotchbrite pad.

Sure have! And, no, no damage to fairlead or rope.

Sorry can't help you...but i bet it would look neat. PlastiDip is cheap enough...buy a can and try it. If you don't like it, peel it off (be careful peeling it off... I don't know how well that stuff sticks to painted surfaces--you don't wanna take the red paint off with it) and consider it a wasted $6. lol.

IMO, infinitely better look than chrome grills especially on red and black Wranglers.

How hard is it to remove and does it leave any residue behind?

I think it would look fine. Also, if you like it ... dont worry about if someone else doesnt. Thats also the awesome thing about plastidip! Its forgiving and if you hate it ... peel it off!
