Im plasti dipping my whole jeep wrangler. its a 2002 tj. i wanted to know what you guys think... ill be posting up pictures later on tonight of the proccess. i only did the doors so far and they came out amazing. but i want to get some feed back... a friend of mine was saying to get a jeep logo sticker on the side and paint over it and then remove the letters so everything around it is flatt black and the words will be silver cuz that the color of my car...
I've seen folks doing their wheel just using a deck of playing cards stuck overlapping in the edges of the rim to prevent over spray. Just left the tires on. Easier than taping off everything or removing the tire.
How many cans did you use? I've read the full thread and found nothing about it. I did the 5 wheels and grille on my JK and it took me 4 cans and a half. Now I want to do the rest, just the metallic parts.
One think people may be missing is the flammability of Plasti Dip... make sure you don't smoke anywhere near your jeep!
Thanks!
Plasti dip is great I had an old Honda that was completely sun faded and I plasti dipped the entire car with about 6 cans and it held up surprisingly well for about a year then I sold it but as long as u don't do to much wheeling thru trees and stuff that scratches ur paint it will last
