Fun time. If ya had a more aggressive tire would of been no problem at all. I run boggers on mine, i cant remember the last time i used my 4wd lol. Gears make the diff though, 4:88s turn 38.5's pretty good.

That's just great footage! I cranked the sound up, and now I have people looking in my office door wondering what's going on

New gears wont really help your torque that much. Something like putting tera low in your t-case will help a lot more.

gearing would help compensate for lack of torque, no?

i would think it would. seems like you would gain a lot of your power back from going to larger tires...well i guess it wouldn't bring "torque" back but it would help to get some power back that you lost from goin to oversize tires

Gears would definately help.I have 35"s with 3.73 gears. It's a slug.Higher gear range like 4.88 I would be able the craw right out of that mud.My jeep bogs down and wants to stall I have to fan the clutch to keep the rpms up.

I never said gears wouldnt help i was saying your money would be better spent on a tera low coversion for you t-case. After i regeared mine i did notice a difference but nothing like but the tera low. Just go to a site that has one of those crawl ratio calculators and see how much the 4.88's raise it and how much a 4:1 t-case raises it.

Not yet but I try not to drive like a as*hole on the road.I'm going to have to put a flowmaster and a cat to get throught state inspection. They tried to get me for my windows the other day but I have a get out of jail free card.Down the road i'm going to do the transfer case but for now I'm going with the gears. The chart said that 4.88s would bring me back to around stock plus I'm going with somekind of locker but not sure what.Any input would be helpfull

That is only the state troopers with the AR-15s in the car.Scary the cops traded in the shot gun for a machine gun.
