playing in the mud, got stuck, got free and got stuck again...lol
well, it finally rained yesterday, so off to the dry lake. a friend of mine decided to tag along with his cherokee. after playing for maybe 30 minutes, I got stuck in the mud (so type of clay, very slipery..) where I was was kinda of tricy as there was a very narrow dry patch. so my friend goes on it and try to pull me out (going backward for me) it didn't work, he tried to turn arround but then both his front wheel fell in a ditch, he got stuck too. he had mud all the way to the top of the front bumper. so here we are, in the middle of no where, both our jeep stuck....lol. we first tried to get the TJ, after several try, many shovel of mud and rocks under the tires, it wouldn't move. so we decide to try and get the Cherokee out. jack it up, removed a lots of mud, try and locate more rocks and we finally made it. then he comes and and after another 30 minutes, we got the TJ out. great !!! then I try to leave the small dry patch, see some hole with water for about 20 feet and dry again after that. so I try and get the speed up, I;m about 5 feet from the dry patch and got stuck again now, we're pro using the tow strap withing 5 minutes I was out again.
for a morning of Fun, we actually played about 30 minutes, and about 3 hours, digging the mud, looking for and carrying rocks, lifting the Jeeps, getting needles from the bushees all over our hands, a great day
lo, it was fun, even thought we were stuck for most of the morning. the speaker is a Cobra speaker for my cb. I emptied the whole windshield fluid but I had an extra gallon.. lol
next I need to get a locker for the front, a scissor jack (the OEM wouldnt go up...) I have already a couple of 2x4 and 2x6 in the trunck, and I need to get some "sand rail" so I can put them under the tires next time I get stuck !!
i have 11 monts of the year to do rocks, so when it finally rain i go in the mud.
yeah my next set of tire will be more agressive, but here, i dont think it would help, the mud is some type of clay and stick to your tire like glue
You know there's a trick I've heard!! Haven't tried it yet cause I really like trails and rock but they say make sure your jeep is clean before you go mudding then wipe baby oil all over where the mud is most likely to end up and when your done mudding just hose off and it should fall off real easy leaving not that much cleanup after!! Like I said though this is what I've heard, I've never tried it though! Really because I don't mud as much because rocks and trails are more my thing!!
