So one of my friends is looking for his first Jeep and asked to ask y'all about this one. It's a 2000 TJ with 77k miles

Nice looking ride. The price seems about right I'm just no a fan of the 4 bangers. They're good motors just a little sluggish.

Looks nice and clean, but will be slow as hell with those tires.

Asking price seems good, but a tad high.

Yeah the tires only make the 4 banger problem worse. If you never wanted to pass someone or only drove in town it would be a great ride.

Make sure the rig has the proper components to run 36s. axles, ratios etc.

Looks good but I wouldn't get it if it hasn't had an axel swap

I think even as a Daily Driver I would make certain of the Axle Swap. I wouldn't feel comfortable with 36"s on stock Axles anyplace. Maybe just me.

Great looking jeep, but I agree with the posts above -- I'd pass unless there are plans to replace the engine.

Or try to pass on a freeway.
Even with a gear/axle swap he isn't going to be happy with the performance or the mpg's.

if the gears and axles have been upgraded it wouldn't be bad, but i would consider a bigger motor replacement also
