Polishing Soft top windows

Can you polish the windows on a soft top with plastic polish to get scratches out?

Everything I have ever heard of usually fogs the plastic.

Try Pledge first. If that doesn't do it there are vids out there that show you how you can do it if you have a buffer. Keep in mind you are removing plastic, if you do it, and you can potentially cause more damage than you repair.

I agree with InfernoGirl, I've used Pledge on plastic windows for years. Airplanes, boats you name it. Maguires is good too. Pledge can yellow over time however.

I did both on mine. I tried using a buffer but had much better luck doing it by hand. Once I was done I put a coat of pledge on. I was never able to get the strap marks out though

Pledge. Used on my Goldwing shield also. Works like a charm.

I removed some serious crap that was on my last jeeps rear window. I think motor oil or something got on the window and made a 1' diameter spot where it was pitted and you couldn't see through it. I hit it with a buffing wheel on my grinder (yeah, super high speed) and some white polish compound. I got a couple little tiny burns from pushing too hard, but it turned out 100x better. I use plexus for keeping the windows nice and clear.
You can see the spot here

I have a spray bottle of cleaner given to me by a helicopter mechanic friend, it is the stuff that they use on the 'copter windscreens, which of course must be kept pretty clear. It works like a charm on the windshields of my motorcycles and on the plastic side-curtains on the boat. As far as Jeep windows, I have a hardtop.

Maguires MirrorGlaze is what I use on my airplane windshield and side windows. No residue film and is supposed to leave a static free surface. Have not tried it on my Jeep though.

I figure they are going to get scratched eventually. Though annoying I can still see out of them fine and I just don't worry about them.

That turned out pretty good. I might have to buy some of that Meguiar's stuff.
