Politically Incorrect Decals?

My Rubi sports: "I have a HUGE Carbon Footprint!" on her rear bumper with "NRA Life Member" and "SCI Life Member" decals in the corners of her rear window.

What's especially entertaining is that I live in Berkeley, CA--complete with neighbors who have a "Terrapass" sticker on their Subaru Outback.

Oh, and our other vehicles are all SUV's (including our giant Ford Expedition)--so, putting all that together, we are pretty much Satan Personified among the liberal crowd.

Love that!

I have a large bumper sticker that reads "proudly using the gas you hybrid saves". Looking at people in the rear view is priceless when they finally get it.

That's an awesome decal. I've seen pics of it but haven't been able to find it.

Yeah, they are FUN to mess with. Another fun exercise: Serving wild game dishes (with meat from animals that we've killed) at our parties--and waiting until they rave about how good it is to tell them what's in it.

Actually the overall footprint for the Prius is, I've heard, bigger than a TJ. The TJ's are on the road for a long time, used recycled plastics, and don't contribute much to landfills as most/all is recycled. The Prius has new plastics, those batteries, etc... so your carbon footprint may be smaller than you think.

Yeah, I've heard the battery in those things is pretty harmful to make. We get our mileage in the teens or lower, but at least these last forever and are cheap to fix.

And if your jeep breaks down and has to move on to a junk yard or be parted out, at least it is recycled and frankensteined into other jeeps. They don't do that with a Prius.

I'm a fan of the "Buy a Hybrid, my Jeep needs the gas" tire covers and bumper stickers myself.

Op did say "Polically incorrect"...

So if you are easily offended or if you are a fundametalist whack-job on either end of the spectrum....dont go there...

But I saw a decal like this on a car the other day.
http://www.dinosaurplay.com/wp-conte...jesus-fish.jpg

I think its fair to describe that as "Politically incorrect"

It amused me

I think hybrid owners should have to pay an extra tax on the gas they use. And because we buy soo much gas that supports the feds and the state, we should get a tax credit.

I read the other day CT is raising the tax on diesel to $0.51 or so per gallon... so my 20 gallon fillup is $10 straight into the states coffers...

Since we were hybrid bashing here...

Check it out!!!
Gotta love it!! The Wrangler wins again!!

"Prius Vs. Other Hybrids, Trucks

The study added up all energy needed to design, build, ship, drive and dispose of a vehicle throughout its lifetime. CNW translated the data into a energy-dollars-per-lifetime-mile figure. According to the study, the Prius costs $2.19 per mile over its expected life span of 100,000 miles, which is down from $3.25 in the 2007 study.
But the newer study still shows 156 cars with lower per mile cost than the Prius, including pickup trucks and SUVs such as the Toyota Tacoma ($.97), Jeep Liberty ($1.11), Ford Explorer ($1.87), Dodge Durango ($1.69) and Jeep Wrangler ($.65).
Still, Toyota's showpiece fared much better than other hybrids like the Civic Hybrid ($2.94), the Camry Hybrid ($3.42) and the Accord Hybrid ($4.28)."

I don't know why people identify with using lots of gas or not caring about our environment. They both affect us negatively. It's probably an ego lash out against the pressure/judgments they feel from liberal extremists.

Idealists (liberal extremists in this case) tend to shove in your face what they value and believe. Then there are others that instead of shoving in your face what they value, they shove in your face that they don't value what you do. It's kind of rude. Then again, it's kind of rude putting your nose in everyone's lives like idealists tend to do.

Can I get a shout out from middle-of-the-roaders that just want to live and let live?

I would be a firm believer in that, just as soon as Algore and his goons quit shoving global warming/climate change in my face.

The only thing remotely worthwhile that comes of it is watching the temps plummet and the snow start whenever Algore decides to have a public fit.

I try to live low impact, environmentally speaking, but enjoy my toys. My vehicles are a 2002 WRX and a 2004 Wrangler. Neither are light on gas (the WRX only takes premium to boot), but neither accrue many miles. My primary commuter is a bicycle, and I only go into the office 3 days a week. So that's 6500 miles worth of gasoline per year that I'm NOT burning, about 433 gallons/year that I'm saving! My Wrangler might as well be a Hybrid!

I guess it all depends on what you like and what you intend to use it for. Bear in mind that the "All Wheel Drive" found on an Outback isn't the same thing as 4-Wheel Drive...

This thread has inspired me, I need to add at least one very politically incorrect sticker to my TJ.
