Ok, those who have a TJ, who leaves their back seat in and who removes it?

Mine is out 90% of the time. The only time I put it in is if the grand kids are visiting.

Mines really 50/50. My dog prefers it so I leave it in but if it's going to rain I'd rather take it out so it doesn't get soggy...

Have it out most of the summer, but now I have an amp hiding under there so I'll likely leave it in unless I get some sort of cover going on since I like to leave the top off as much as possible, which leads to me getting rained on a bit more than most would be comfortable with

Kids are grown...bought the Jeep '04.....and took the seat out fairly soon...had it in and out for a little bit a year so...than put it up on a shelf in the garage....than traded it to a fellow Jeeper in '10...the JK and JKU both still have their back seats though......

I have my seat in, but I have this cargo rack for the back when I take my seat out. The support beams for the rack don't get in the way of the back seat or its passengers, so I just leave them installed when I have the back seat in.

I bought a Besttop backseat with headrests, waterproof also. Its a bit safer for passengers. Only had it out once or twice.

I still have one at home plus a boomerang (I keep throwing her out but she keeps returning) so I need to leave it for now.

I still have mine and I put the brackets back in after getting it bedlined but thats where my spare lives. Don't think I put the seat belts back in either, that way they can't flap around in the wind. Still have the seat though.

Mine is out, rack in its place. Once I have kids old enough to go wheeling, seat will be back in.

In as my son and a friend are with me often. I got a new best top folding seat though. That way if I need or want to I can fold it up and forward to have space.

that's where I am at and why I ask the question. Being an empty nester, it is just me, the wife and our two labs. With it folded up, there is basically room for the dogs back there.

But, I wheel with my son(s) and should one of their Toyotas break down (notice I didn't say my Jeep - big rivalry going on!!!), they may need a ride out until we can get the rig working. If it is just me and one of them, I would need the seat. Decisions, decisions!!

Leave it out. It will give you room for extra provisions. That way if one of them does break down he will have plenty of water and snacks for his hike back to civilization.

I leave it in as its the safest place, no cat, dog etc damage. Covered in winter (hard top) etc. With it in the garage it stands chance of getting jacked up and its in the way. I just flip it forward to load stuff if need be.
