Portable 2000lb Winch from Wal-Mart

I have a mall crawler due to lack of funds to upgrade my jeep (I have only had it a few months) and was looking at the $50.00 winch at wal-mart. It looks like it could work but I was wondering if any of you have had any experience with either this winch or one like it. Also would a come-along like you would use to pull out a tractor work for a cheap option when mudding???

Good winch for your garage ceiling to lift and store the hard top.

2000 lb isn't gonna be enough your gonna burn it out and or snap a line and hurt yourself or cause damage to your rig. you need more like a 8000lb, trust me save up and get a good winch. mile marker, ramsey, even smittybuilt they all run somewhere around 300-600 greenbacks. look into the different types of them before you just go out and buy. ask questions that is the best way to figure out what best works for you.

If you can't afford a full size winch then yes, a come along will be alot of help. I used one for years.

We are saving up for a good winch so for now we have a come along. Think odhinn found a black mountain winch for a very good price.

Last come along I bought was only about $20 but that was a few years ago.

380.00 for 10k If i remember. They are sold locally here in DFW and I know a few people with them. Good winches for the moderate to heavy offroader and very depenadable from what I have been told. Now if you are extreme I will always suggest a Warn, or Tabor but they will be much more expensive. I would stay away from a 2k winch unless you will be using it as a garage lift or clearing small stuff on the trail. A come along if a great Idea and I always have one with me.
