About 2 weeks ago my Jeep wouldn't start after work and I just tapped the battery terminals in case it was just a bad connection and it started right up. But, after that my Jeep's dash and radio lights have been dimming in and out while I'm driving down the road for no reason. My radio will even go off and on periodically. It starts just fine now and I had my alternator tested and they said it was good, but it seemed like it was working harder than it should be at idle so it may be on the verge of going bad. Everything electrical is stock including the radio. I will probably go ahead and change the alternator, but any other ideas or help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
I would clean all the battery terminals and connections real good and see if that helps before replacing anything. I have had problems in the past with a bad battery connection making things work intermittently.
Pull the positive side battery cable with the Jeep idling, if the Jeep dies replace the altenator, if it stays running then its your battery. Do this after you clean the cables.
It happens for no reason at all and it actually stopped yesterday afternoon for no reason. I'm going to grab a wire brush cleaner for my battery terminals today and clean them and see if that fixes it. Thanks everyone!!
