Cool potential jeep owner

What's up guys and gals. I am new to the forums and hopefully new to the jeep world. I am looking at trading my pick-up for a jeep and wanted to get some help. I am looking at a 97 Jeep Wrangler with a straight 6, manual with some lift and bigger tires. Is there anything that i need to look for when i go check this baby out? The body looks to be in good shape but i'm just a little concerned about the drive train? It's at a used car lot and the guy said that it's a local trade and has been taken care of. He's asking $6000 which doesn't seem to bad. It's got 12000 miles on it. I just don't want to get stuck having to shell out a lot of money in repairs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Look at the frame near the wheels for any signs of rust. Because of its boxed design and poor draigage mud and water seems to collect inside and rust it from the inside out. I looked at more then a dozen wranglers before finding one with a near mint frame underneath. Here in the northeast that is rare. I had to do some mechanics to her but that was better then having to deal with any frame issues.
