Powder Coating Aluminum rims

I have ProComp Xtreme alloy wheels..... Pro Comp Series 1089 Polished Wheels - Pro Comp Wheels, Xtreme Alloy Wheels .I am not into the whole shiny wheels. I hate spending my weekends trying to keep these things looking nice and i was wondering if anyone has had their alloy wheels sand blasted and powder coated. If so, how are they holding up and about how much did it cost?

If you hate keeping your polished wheels cleaned up, just wait until you put a black powdercoat coating on them if you offroad. Offroading will scrape and scratch that powder coating & you'll then be touching them up with paint. I didn't worry about keeping my alumium wheels shined up in the least. Just washing my Jeep 1-2X a year made them seem really shiny for a while.

When you have a choice, buy American.

There's a difference between alumium (alloy) and chrome wheels. My alloy ones just need a bath now and then, but chrome ones require lots moe upkeep to look nice and once they get scratched (as with any other chrome part) forget it.

Yeah, chrome sucks. Polished wheels are where its at. Spray them with some cleaner and hose them off so they look new again. You could always take a grinder to them and remove the chrome.
