Power steering inlet and outlet?

Which is the inlet from the pump and which is the outlet?

The one towards the back of the Jeep is the return line, forward is the supply.

That's correct. In your pic, it is the one on the left (closer to passenger side).

I think that I have them crossed on my diesel conversion. The fluid is cooking and the steering is rock hard with jerking. Of course, I find this out after spending close to $200 on custom hoses.

Nice area, I had a couple of friends that used to live in that area, just on the GV side of Lake of the Pines
