prob with a/c controls and/or heater core?

My TJ has no air-conditioning, and temp selector wont physically move any "cooler" than half-way between coldest and hotest. That is - the middle of the range between all the way to the left ("coldest"), and all the way to the right (HOT). Is this normal for a jeep with no a/c? Doesnt seem quite right... thx Hot air ALL the time is no good during the summer.

I have the exact same problem with my 98 TJ right now. Still trying to figure out what's wrong. I'll be watching for an answer. Does the little connection on yours pop out if you push it really hard towards cold?

I had the same problem with my 97. I took the controls out and noticed that the cable stop on the back broke off. I'm waiting until it's that time of year where I need heat to fix it. I pulled the door lever under the dash to the cool side until then.

So mtbrider, your temp control arm wont go to the right? (hotter). Mine blows warm air all the time, which is good thing here in OR much of the year.

I hate to pull the dash off to get at the a/c controls, but I think it may need to be done...?
