I developed a problem with my brake lights recently and was hoping some of you could help me out.
Brake Lights stopped working,
I replaced the bulbs (one was burned out)
I checked the fuse, it was ok. I replaced it anyway
I replaced the brake switch and they still don't work.
by the way, my turn signals work fine.
any help or ideas would greatly appreciated.

Saved me big bucks!!! brake light problems TJ Wrangler

Smitty THANKS!
I was searching google for this exact problem. My 97 tj's exterior lights all worked even the third or center brake light. The right and left brake lights would not.
I would warn people be aware of the air bag deployment! It takes 2 minutes to fully disarm them after you take the neg. batt. cable off.
The hazzard switch is part of the multi-function (turn signal, high beam) switch. I did not remove or rather take apart the switch to get to the hazzard slider part on top. I just sprayed WD-40 on it and worked the slider while blowing air on it.
I did take the "multi-function" switch out of the steering column. It is pretty ez but requires 1 torx bit and you need to remove headlight switch knob & bar (not switch, to reinstall lower cover) press button near rear on top and pull out. You will also have to remove ignition switch by pressing a punch or small screwdriver under switch.
I have a service manual from Chrysler...
Thanks again~
