Prom night squeek ...

FYI ...

Had a very loud and annoying squeek from the back area of my 2005 Wrangler Rubicon (45,000 miles and well maintained). The squeek would occur when going around corners but disappeared on a straight track. Took it to the local Jeep Dealership, well known tire store, and an off road specialist with no luck except an acknowledgement that it was LOUD.

4 hours of my time later and cursing at my girlfriend for not rocking my jeep hard enough (she said she did not want to break a nail) I found two loose bands on my gas tank and all the bolts loose on the pan surrounding the same. Bolts were tightened, and my problem solved.

Just a post to help others that might have a similar issue now or in the future ...

I'll remember that. I hate squeeks, knocks and rattles!

Thanks

I had a horrible sqeek in the front end after power washing yesterday. SOOOO LOUD then I'd just barely push the brake pedal and it was quiet. Then, a minute later, it was back, until I touched the pedal again.

Today it is gone, I must have gotten water into something it was the first run with my own power washer. I was able to put 'er up on stands and get a hundred pounds of mud off it. Having a power washer is the cats a.. it rules for after mudding... blows mud out of places I did not know it could get into! And under the hood... man, I forgot the Jeep was supposed to be white under there until last night!
