Just picked up this '97 tj for 7500. 105,000 on the clock. 4.0, 35 bfg's, chip (useless) cat back exhaust, airaid cai (useless) electric fan (I like). I think its been regeared, has pleanty of pep with the 35's. Loosing the chrome asap, building brackets for the bumpers and blacking out the grill to start with....My first jeep...cigars for everyone!
Thanks everybody, and yeah that's the girlfriends "jeep". 2012 model. Nice. But not for me. Just got the a/c work'n on mine. Just blew hot. The selector cable had come apart behind the glove box. 10 minute fix. Swaped all the chrome peices off my hood for black ones off my friends 04. Wonder if he'll notice. Gonna do some painting tomorrow and mount a fire extinguisher somewhere. These things are so user friendly lol. Love it.
Wralph it drives perfect. No vibration at all. No play in the steering wheel either. When I got it the tires only had about 10 pounds in them. Aired them up and it's alittle stiffer ride but not bad at all. I was totaly suprised. Tracks straight as an arrow down the highway. Its floooding here, tried out the small tears in the top, they work great, got my first puddle in the floor. But it's already been sprayed so who cares lol. Just got my tag for it...TUFTJ. I'm forty two and feel like a kid again....well kinda.
Got a little done today. Blacked out the grill, hood latch, around the lights, the bumper, and installed the fire puter outer. Gonna try to get the fenders and wipers tomorrow.:thumb:
