Quadratec

I received my first and last shipment form Quadratec today. Item was scuffed and looked like it had been sold before. Then I read their paper work and they don't pay return shipping. I will just keep what I have and they won't sell me anything else.

Try contacting them thru pm on this forum. Before giving up.

I'm surprised Jerry. They've always matched prices, and if contacted thru pm, will waive shipping charges. Actually, they set my name up for free shipping, so now I don't need to pm. Shipped a complete Dana 44 no shipping charges

I purchased an item from Quadratec which was clearly the wrong product in the wrong box.
Quadratec didn't want to know anything about it so I contacted the manufacturer (Kentrol) who immediately shipped me the correct part - didn't want proof of purchase and didn't want me to return incorrect part either.

I called them on an item and price match and the sales rep was a real tool. I ended up spending my $320.00 elsewhere, give them a chance my a$$, they are too big for their britches and don't care about their customers.

Sorry to hear that. I've had good experiences with quadratec so far. Always free shipping if you order through the sales person here on wrangler forum.

Heard a couple of people over here in England saying the same, service has fell of the cliff and they would not consider them in the future.

Hey there,

I want to apologize for the condition of the product you received. Please PM me your order number and I'll pick that up and send a new one out to you at no charge.

Quadratec, while we are at this I have a question regarding your shipping to us not in the CONUS. I ordered seat covers from y'all and the shipping was $42.25. yes, I did come USPS as I was told over the phone BUT it came USPS International Priority. when I got the package from the P.O. I asked what would it cost to return it, as is, right now? I was told less than $20.00. I don't remember the exact amount but basically half as much. this is going regular USPS Priority. I also tried to get a catalog and was told shipping was $9.00. for a catalog?

I will be more than happy to do business with Quadratec but I need some help on the shipping. if it can't go in the P.O. then i'll have it shipped to Fla, have it put on a boat, & get it in less than 2 weeks.

I forgot to add my zip - 00824

Of course Quadratec will price match and/or offer free shipping if pushed to do so, few sales organizations won't. I knew that, it always comes up that QT will temporarily lower their price to match a smaller retailer... but again, only when pushed to do so.

So their prices are usually much higher than what you can find the same items elsewhere. Most people just blindly pay them and QT enjoys the extra-high profit. Fine, that is how the marketplace and the free economy works.

But my real problem is this: A smaller retailer risks advertising the item you want at a lower price so they can compete against the pretty catalog. All QT has to do to win that sale is to price match but they only do that when forced to do so... the customer asking for the price match is screwing the smaller dealer who assumed the risk and offered the item for sale at the lower price. Why ask for the price match when you can reward the smaller retailer by buying the part from him at the lower price instead going back and just giving the sale to Quadratec simply because they will price match?

Not to mention their outrageous shipping charges that are not even close to what it actually costs them to ship a part including paying the shipping department's overhead and wages, they make a profit there too which is why their shipping charges are nothing short of outrageous in my personal opinion.

I HATE the fact Quadratec is always pushing they'll price match or offer free shipping to beat out the smaller retailers. Such policies can and do put smaller retailers out of business. What happens then? Less competition and QT just gets bigger by having the muscle to steal sales from smaller retailers who are trying harder to be competitive. Which means higher prices for everyone as sources of lower priced parts dry up.

If I find what I want at a lower price elsewhere, I'm sure not going to call Quadratec and have them price match that price for the privilege of buying from them. I'll buy it from the smaller retail and reward him with my $$$ since they had the guts to risk the lower price in the first place.

Quadratec has a pretty catalog full of smiling models but I'm sure not going to reward them for their pricing or price-match policies when I find what I want cheaper elsewhere without simply using that price as a means to get QT to temporarily lower their price for me. I'll buy from the other company with the guts to sell at a lower price in the first place without needing to be pushed to do so.

I use 4WD Hardware. Not head-over-heels on the prices but as I live nearby, I can get face to face advice from the employees. All of them are hardcore wheelers and the parking lot shows, as it's full of Jeeps or other 4x4s.

You mean companies that don't have the guts to produce and deliver a catalog in the first place? Then they steal the business from those who do by undercutting the price without having the expense of advertising.

My big problem with Quadratec is they are on the East Coast and im on the West Coast. I would rather pay a little more than Quadratec to get my part possibly same day, rather than 4-7 days later.

Since I live in the Caribbean everything has to be shipped here. The "free shipping" to me is BS. I'm personally looking forward to Quadratec's reply in the next day or so

As far as free shipping, there's a code in the Vendor's Spotlight that gives you free shipping when you order. I've only placed one small order from them, but I was satisfied with my order. I'd do business with them again, especially if that free shipping deal is still in effect for members here.

Just out of curiosity: how large does a company have to get before they're portrayed as an evil entity bent on putting everyone else out of business?

Most businesses require additional shipping charges when they're dealing with a customer that's outside of the continental US or in an international location.

Aside from that, have you considered Morris 4x4 Center? They're in Pompano Beach, Florida.

I have personally enjoyed my experiences with quadratec. I ordered a set of wheels that came in good condition, however they would not balance. So I went ahead and called them. Even though they are not supposed to take wheels that have been mounted, they happily paid return postage and refunded the full amount

free shipping on anything over $99 (which is pretty much anything you buy there) is ridiculous? okay then...

and their prices are the same or cheaper than many other sites- I compare prices on anything I buy, even using Amazon. Not sure where this comes from.

sorry you had a bad experience.

We are a part of the US. The post office (non international) costs the same as shipping to Hawaii , Alaska, or Puerto Rico. Being 80 miles east of PR does NOT put us in an international situation. I'm calling bull shit on this theory. All I want is equality on shipping, not some discount on items bought

I'm still waiting for a response from Quadretec...... Maybe

I ordered something and was told it was on back order for two weeks. Four months later after contacting them they said it hasn't arrived still and wouldn't be in the nearby future. I had to contact them multiple times in order for them to tell me this. I was so pissed. Went to four wheel parts boom ordered it and arrived within 4 days. No longer will my business be with quadratec

You're being vague. Where are you that you're "80 miles east of Puerto Rico?"

It's not a "theory." Like I said:

Go to various websites and look it up yourself.

And so on, and so on. Hell, even Amazon.com has differing rates between the 48 contiguous states and Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.

Don't blame the companies just because you don't agree with their shipping policies. It takes more effort to get a product to you than it does to locations that are connected by roads.

That's Logistics 101.

I've had good luck with them. Shipping costs are free for me because I have a tough time ordering less than $75 a pop.

I like to spread what little money I have around, so even if the price is a little higher than what QT charges and if I think I get better customer relations from say JC Whitney OR 4x4 Off-Roaders, I will, go there.
