Question about door surrounds

For my summer top, I use this combo from Quadratec. It's cheap, easy and it fits my needs.

The only problem is that huge rain puddles form on the top over the cab. Also, the water that leaves the top drains right into the space between my door and roll bar (where the top ends). It's funny to have a few inches of water in there, and fun to take out the drain plugs and roll out -- but sometimes I need to be presentable in meetings at work, and she's my only ride.

I hear there are door surrounds and flex bars that I could get. I just don't know if my top will be compatible with the door surrounds I choose. I also have no idea if it'll be compatible with a flex bar, to help keep the top taut.

I was looking at these door surrounds, and I couldn't even find a flex bar on their site.

Can anybody help me choose the cheapest (but won't break instantly either) door surrounds and flex bar so I don't have waterfalls inside the cab anymore?

I'm surprised you didn't get door surrounds when you got the top. I would consider them required for putting a soft top on. The top sides clip into the door surrounds just like the soft top channel around the tub. Get the bestop door surrounds. Bestop is the OEM manufacturer. Also and door surrounds that say the work with the oem soft top will also work. Do you have the tailgate bar? It seals the top to the tailgate.

The door surrounds you can get from Smittybilt for around $99. The support you are referring to is called a Top Prop and is made by Skid Row.

There are several threads on the forum with instructions for making your own prop.

You may be able to find the door surrounds on craigslist or at a pull-a-part lot.

If you need some door surrounds, I have a set that I replaced when I got my new Supertop NX. If you might be interested, just PM and I will shoot you a price.
