Question about half doors and replacement top for full doors

I am new to the forum, so I am going to ask a question and hopefully get some sound advice. I didn't see where this had been asked before, so here it goes.

I need to replace a soft top on a 99 Wrangler with half doors. Found a 2006 Rubicon OEM soft top for sale locally. From what I read up on this topic, the 06 top should fit the 99 without any issues. However, I learned that the Rubicon has full hard doors. If I put a Rubicon soft top on my 99 Wrangler with half door with skins, do I need to replace the half doors with full doors in order to have the doors fit?

Any advice anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You will need door surrounds, but you should already have those. So you should be set. I don't believe there is a difference between soft tops for half or full doors other than the surrounds.

No, because the half door uppers close against the door surrounds. Not the top itself. You just use your upper skins like you always have.
