I would like to install a light under my hood in my 2013 Wrangler, that is easy. But is there a way to wire it to my alarm so if someone opens my hood the light would go on and set off the alarm. Any insight would be much appreciated.
Loco- you could just tie into the pin switch on the driver's door. This would trigger the alarm but it would also turn on the cabin lights every time the hood opens. And to combat that problem, you could diode protect the cabin light from the hood switch. I'm assuming that we are talking about the factory alarm system.
The hood light on my jeep always has power running to it, and is turned on and off by a mercury switch. It would probably be easier to just put a plunger switch somewhere on the hood for the alarm.
