Looks good - Although I'd personally stay away from the 4 cyl engine, a lot of people have the 4 cyl engines. Definitely drive it, 2WD and 4WD, and check for any clicks, groans, etc. 136K miles for $5K isn't bad. Also check the book value on it - You should be able to talk them down to $4500 if you offer cash.

Do you think you would like the 4 cylinder? Or can you wait to get a 6 if you think you might have regrets?

it looks good, seems like a fair price, but...

If it were me personally the jeep would have to be PERFECT for me to consider going 4cyl.
I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the smaller engine but... there are suspension differences, power and performance differences, economy differences... Its definitely something to think about

Thanx. I believe I would be ok with the 4cyl. What would you say the gas mileage is with a 4cyl? Is there a major difference the suspension and performance? WouldI not be able to do some offroading if I was able to find a place nearby? I really appreciate the comments. Keep them coming.

I just bought a 6 cylinder and I get like 15 mpg with bigger tires. I bet you could get close to 20 in a 4 cyl.

I got rid of my 4 cyl for a 6 cyl. No power lol maybe test drive one of each??

I love my 2.5 5 speed. Even though its not my DD, I still don't have problems with power. Our group does quite a bit of trail riding - anything from mud, hills, rock, to a leisure back road drive through the country. In 4-low that thing will go anywhere.

My only concerns about the one your contemplating buying is the rust on the frame / undercarriage. Pay close attention to it, check it out and make sure it's not rusted all the way thru your frame.

Good luck!

check the fuel tank skid, if its rotting in the center thats a sign it is or was at one point leaking gas.

if you have time take the top off, and put it back on, that will tell you a lot about it and the top of the tub/ windshield

while test driving:

check the 4WD and make sure when your putting it in 4WD you are moving

while driving wiggle the steering to see if you get any residual wobble
