There is a black box on the drivers side fender with vacuum lines running to it on the front top of the black box there is a inlet or outlet with nothing on it, it is open does this nipple about 5/8 in size does it need a plug? does it take a hose? Or is supposed to be open? thanks
Pictured is a California emissions Jeep - if you have a Jeep that just falls under federal emisisons you have a little purge solenoid, the big charcoal canister, a hose going in from the gas tank, and a hose going into an intake manifold vacuum port. The big 5/8" hose will have a breather cap "hat" on it.
thanks for the info. My jeep does not have any breather cap on it, just open. would this affect vacuum on my jeep? I am having an issue with my a/c, max on the a/c will switch from front vent to defrost when on the highway. I checked everything and could not find anything else.
I’ve got a 98 jeep TJ and The guy who owned it before me installed a turbo, I have a lever on the dash that when I pull out, it energizes the solenoid on this evap canister, does anybody know why or what that lever would be for?
