It's 19.9 gal. Once the gauge shows true empty, you can still get about 50-70 miles out of it. I don't even go by the gauge any more. Just go by the Odometer and you'll be ok. I know that I get 300 -315 till empty, so I just refill at 285 and never have a problem. You might want to bring a gas can the first time you try this though.

Before I dropped my tank to change the pump I ran it to empty 1/4th of a tank. Yea, we were thinking it was going to be light but boy were we wrong! I bought a siphon and started draining it. Way more then a 1/4th of a tank left in the thing more like half a tank. The tank was 10x more lighter going up then coming down that's for sure. On my 98 there was a little filler neck on the inside that they claim you can cut off but I left it on there because on mine it holds the little ping pong bobber that closes the tank when it's full. I hate over filling it as it is

Guages are not highly calibrated or accurate.
