radio problems

Hey guys, I've got a 2003 wrangler sport and its radio is being screwy. Whenever I turn the key, the radio lights up and works. But if I let go of the key and grab the gearshift, the radio loses power and stops working. If I push the key back in, It works again. Im confused.....
Anyone know why this is happening/how to repair it???
The radio's factory original, by the way

It could be your ignition switch. If your turn signals and wipers also stop working intermittently, you probably need a new switch. Good luck
