Cool Radio Question

So my parents GMC Sierra Duramax has a radio that automatically adjust the volume as you accelorate, if windows are down, etc to compensate for noises. Is there a radio for the jeep that will do this? I love it in my parents truck.

GM has been doing that for years, I always thought it was a neat feature. I don't know if there is a Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler that does....

I use to have an Aiwa headunit in my YJ that did this, but never worked all that well.

Jeep does not have one. Obviously it would have to be integrated into the vehicle electronics so the answer is no.

If your Jeep is anywhere near as noisy as mine is the radio would be at full blast anyway!!!

That just sounds like an annoying feature...

Its very annoying. My wifes ford edge has it and when we are talking, say at a red light sitting still, and we start to accelerate we have to turn it down constantly just to keep talking. It gets kin of loud sometimes.

I guess if you are by yourself its nice but not with more than yourself

ok so for the op, the answer is yes, you can buy an aftermarket head unit with that feature. It comes with either a small mic or a vss wire connection. If your vehicle doesnt have audio controls on your steering wheel, as wranglers dont,(Tj's anyway), its likely you dont have a vss wire behind the radio. The Vehicle Speed Sensor wire is how it increases volume by detecting voltage through rpm and how steering wheel controls work factory radios. Now, imo paying the extra cash for these types of head unit just isnt worth the money on a Wrangler. Theres already too much ambient noise and it'll just be maxed out most of the time. For you guys that are annoyed by this feature, look through your manual or jump on your pc, there is ALWAYS a way to turn this feature off. Hope it helped a bit

I haven't heard it in any other vehicle than my parents duramax. And it works wonders! We can set it to compensate so much. I set it when we're just sitting still and never have to adjust it again!
I just hadn't seen any After Market radios with it and I was just curious.
Thanks!
