Radio\Speaker upgrade in '02

Had the jeep about a week now, noticed the minute I brought it home the radio left alot to be desired. About day 3, noticed the CD doesn't work so that put a little more urgency into upgrading.

Don't want the 1,000 "system" I had when I was 16, looking for a nice head unit, and suggestions for 4 speakers to replace the two in the dash, and two in the sound bar.

Would like to hear the music, with a little bit of bass, no amps or anything like that.

Been looking on Ebay and think I can pull it all off for under $100.00 but open to suggestions.

I am liking the cd players with bluetooth, around $65.00 on ebay.

Can I fit 6x9's in the sound bar?

Any input would be appreciated!

6x9's will not fit without alot of modding. Exact fit is 5-1/2" in overhead and 4x6 in the dash(adapter plate required because of nonstandard size). You can fit 6-1/2" in the overheads require new holes for speakers, and there exists adapter plates to fit 5-1/2" in the dash(cutting required). I would highly recommend going up one size from the standard. I got good quality 4x6 and 5-1/2" but lack bass anywhere. I now have a 8" sub in my console to fill the gap.

Just bought a True Hi9 rear and a D44 front, both with ARB's and 4.88 gears!! Check out the build!
