Awesome. One of the reasons i went with Rampage were the stories of their great customer service.

I did, because if I didn't the aftermarket channel wouldn't fit.

Ok. I did too but its still loose and lots of gaps. Did some reading and some people left it on.... Just had to really pull it forward while bolting it down. I guess i can always put it back on with some weather stripping.

On a side note.

I now have a set of oem side windows (98 tj se). Light scratches and some haze on the windows and the velcro isnt perfect. But the fabric, window seals and zippers are all proper. Any idea how much i could get for them? Anyone interested or want to trade for something you dont use anymore?

You wouldn't happen to have the entire soft top for sale? My zippers are broken and wondering if you looking to get rid of them

Sorry no. the rest of the top was in pretty bad shape, big rip above the drivers side door, many small tears and rips along the seams, and the back window zipper was broken, so i tossed it, hence the new top.

Set the pieces on the top of the jeep in the sun so they would get soft. The plastic parts definitely needed it. The windows softened up nicely very quickly.

Next was the top itself. The foam pads are a PITA, but letting the top sit in the sun for a while helped a bit. It was difinitely hard to fasten above the doors and along the windshield channel, but just go very, very slowly and it eventually goes in. I let the windows sit in the sun while i was doing this. Lets them stretch out a bit and get soft and pliable.

Next I started putting on the windows. Patience is definitely the key here as its a very very tight fit. Just followed the instructions, fastened the zippers a few inches at the tops of each window, then started inserting the plastic along the door surrounds and bottom of the windows. Just went a few inches, let it sit for a while, then did a few more inches, let it sit, etc.... One thing I recommend is to get some zipper pulls, the top dosnt have any. I bought some at REI (4 pack for $2) and I'm super glad I did. Made the zippers MUCH easier to pull.

And that's it! Overall pretty difficult to put on, but its a new top and you just can't go quickly. Definitely have to go slow, if you force anything it will break or rip. All in all took a few hours total. And I'm not done yet. I'm sure I'll have to adjust straps, zippers, etc... as the top stretches out over time. I'm very pleased tho so far, love the tinted windows and profile. I'll see how it handles some rain, but I think the rainy season here is just about over anyway. Off to the beach!!

Its still winter but am looking to replace the 8 year old original soft top that came with the LJ. Am considering the Rampage and the Softtopper. I am a bit concerned that with the straps on the outside that they will be whipping around in the wind and making a bunch of noise, especially with the windows out. Anyone have any issues with theirs?

I havent really noticed any flapping from those straps yet. They sit pretty tight and snug.

Had my top for almost 2 years and the straps don't flap a bit . The top flaps in high wind but rest of the time it's fine. Once the top is installed it is a quick process to take off and put back on.

ive had mine for about 6 mths. i love it. it fits nice and snug. the only thing is the rear outside straps. they dont flap but. i have to wrench it down so much to tighten it the velcro has to go thru the secure buckle then i have a long tail that is not velcro'ed down. that part curls up. ????

Seems pretty good so far. The top over the drivers compartment flaps a bit, makes noise when it hits the support bars but i think thats due to the fact that its still stretching and just needs to be adjusted/tightened. Otherwise i feel its quieter than the frame top i took off.

Cool thanks that what I was wondering I like the look and my top is shot. I was set on it then another jeep owner who didn't own one said itd be more noisy than havin a frame especially on hwy or interstate speed which I drive daily for commute to work. It's a jeep so I expect some noise and ill prob be buying one when tax return comes. Thanks again

I like mine but I am only partially done with the install. As mentioned the surrounds by the doors are a major PITA. It figures we are in a cold spell (for AZ) and have not been able to finish the job. The only thing remaining is to zip up the back window to the sides but there is about a 1 -1/2 inches gap and I don't want to force it. I am waiting for some days over 70 and I hope that helps. Over all it is very tight.
