Random TJ switch

So, I have a '98 TJ Sport, and there is a switch located just to the right of the steering column but it is not connected to anything. I took the panel off just below the column and it looks like there is a connection that will attach to this switch. So does anyone know if this indeed connects to that switch, and does anyone know what this switch does?

Does it look factory? If it was done by owner, who knows. I've seen all sorts of things wired to switches. Maybe it's for you Ejector seat. Be careful.

Here's the pictures. I connected the thing but it didn't seem to do anything.

I vote for passenger eject switch!

EDIT:
It may be one of these.
See if it affects your dome light when you have the door open.

Yeah looks like someone added the dome lamp switch. Nice job.

Take a look at the fuse box behind the glove box. If you see a pair of wires instead of a fuse plugged into # 4 (dome over ride) that's what you got.

Usually though they are a two wire set up. Power in/out. With a ground wire also, you may have a switch that lights up when activated.

I don't think that's it. I checked the fuse box and there're no wires going into any of the terminals; there's a fuse in the #4 spot. I flipped the switch and opened the doors and the dome light still comes on.

Probably a switch for something the previous owner removed before selling it.

Lights, radio, power inverter... who knows.

That one white plug does NOT look like any aux light plug I've seen, so I'd lean towards power inverter. But it is NOT stock.

I had an aux light switch there, now I have an in-cab winch control there.

This. It is definitely something that has been added by a previous owner.
