RC 2.5" Lift installed!

I finally got my lift installed this week and just now got access to a computer to upload some pics and just came home from college for spring break so I finally got a chance to test the lift out (live on a 200 acre farm lol). Took about 3 days to complete everything..got the coils and shocks installed in one night..after a few breaks and didnt have jack stands and stuff big enough so it took some riggin to get it done but we got it ( We is me and 2 guys none of us have never done one before)..Next day took it for a drive and got vibrations after gettin up to 35-40 mph..so i put the t case drop and it rides nice and smooth now..the next day i tackled the rear trac bar relocation bracket which was a hugggeee pain..would be much easier to drop the gas tank but i finally got it on so now my axle is nice and centered (before, i couldnt get a finger between the drivers side rear tire and the top of where the spring connects)...finally after all that my 4wd lever was outta wack and adjusted the linkage just like the instructions showed and now it works great..overall very happy with the lift..i meant to do before and after measurements but i was so excited that after i put the front coils and shocks on i remembered..oh well, visibly i can tell i got ATLEAST 2.5" if not more..the before and after pics dont do it justice..but enjoy the pics!

pic 1 and 2 are before..3 and 4 after and 5 is a little flex test..just behind my house couldnt find anything bigger to flex on..front left and back right tires arent even close to touchin the flares so i could go a good bit more and im connected in the front so ill have to try it out disconnected

ive heard mixed reviews as well..many people says its too cheap, to save up money for OME, RE, etc. but im happy with it so far, did fine off road today although it wasnt anything extreme obviously but it rides great on the road too..we'll see how it goes

Yea. I hear a lot of bad stuff too. But it's weird that it seems to be the most poplar lift. Just like smittybilt.

Haha well, the only issue Ive heard is that over time the quality stucks. like the coating on the springs goes to heck and all that. but Ive heard rough country has improved, so hey. sounds good. I might go with this after all. when you ordered the kit you had to add on the rear track reloc. brackets right? or did everything come complete?

Flex shot looks good, heck of alot better than stock! Good work man!

Yeah I think I may go with this one too. Still gonna be tough deciding though. It might just come down to money. Not going to do anything extreme off road but really want something that can perform when I do decide to go out

thanks man! the kit came with springs shocks and the t case spacers and all hardware..although mine didnt come with the bolts for the bottom of the front shocks but the stock ones worked fine. had the rear ones and the top of the front ones.. had to order the rear track bar bracket separately but it was only like 17 bucks i think

Hopefully you called your order in to Jeff @ RC and told him you are on a forum. He offers a 10% discount to jeepforum members. This is obviously NOT JF, but if you are a JF member, that discount would apply to you.

Jeff is a great guy to deal with if you have any customer service needs.

Put my 2.1/2 inch lift on 6 months ago and like it . Very easy to do with a little planing . (like PB every thing 2 weeks ahead ) Only problem I have is the rear springs don,t set straight and I,m not happy with that . I hear you can buy a shim for the rear perch to fix that and am looking into that .

No vib,s not to tall and rides nice .

Only thing bad about the lift I got witch was the 3.25" was that the shocks have no travel in them

yes everything came in it, except the bottom bolts for the front shocks. The stock ones worked just fine though

I was told the partial body lift in the 3.25" lift isn't good and I should go with a full suspension lift. Then I was told not to go with the spring spacers because they might unseat.

What is the big worry with the body lift?

the rc 3.25" lift doesnt have a body lift..its the exact lift i got (2.5") with 3/4" spacers..thats it..they have a combo lift that is a 3.75" lift which is the same lift i have plus a 1.25" body lift..

Yeah that must be the one I meant. the 3.75"

Either way I got turned off the Rough Country lifts that were within my budget because of the body lift and spacers. Sucks because I thought I figured out what lift I wanted.

the body lift wont hurt..go with the 3.75 man, 1.25" BL wont hurt anything, it would actually be better to do the body lift and motor mount lift than to put a tcase drop on

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I think if you get the 3.75" and then get the MML with it it will rule out any need for an SYE and CV driveshaft in the future (if you end up getting a little bit bigger lift down the road). While its always best to do it that way, the BL and MML could "hold you over" until you were ready to get into the SYE CV driveshaft ect, if you were to even go that route.
I also have the RC 2.5" lift and honestly its amazing. Plenty of room for my 31s and in my opinion it rides just as good if not better than my jeep did before the install. But of course I did have the stock shocks that came on the jeep in 1997.
