RC 2.5" review

Ok, pretty much decided what I want for a lift. Going to go with the RC 2.5" with the 2.2 shocks and a 1.25" BL. From people who have this lift can you give me a quick down and dirty pros and cons?

Couple of questions also

1.The kit does not come with bump stop extensions or spacers, do I need these?
2. It also doesn't come with a track bar relocation bracket, is that something I also need?

I'm going to put on jks discos and a 1" MML to so I'm not going to drop the t-case.

Thanks, I did read those. I guess maybe I'm looking for something a little more personable or maybe a little more info before I pull the trigger.

just some pros and cons and if the people have it like it etc...

Also do I need to extend the bumpstops and do I need to relocate the trackbar?

Actually let me start over. Say I put on a 3.25" lift instead of a 2.5", how much do I need to extend the bumpstops or do I even have to?

Extending bump stops are only necessary to prevent rubbing or over compressing your shocks. Depending on the type of wheeling you will be doing, you would extend your bump stops to match your shocks, not your lift.

If you go with 3 or above you may have some other considerations, like a SYE kit.

what size tires are you wanting to clear and is it a DD?

I'm probably going to go with the RC 3.25", 1" BL and 1" MML. Most likely going to go with 33x12.5 on 15" pro comp alloys. I have 3.73 gears, I figure it will be fine for a while I don't do much highway and I don't mind downshifting on hills etc...

My other option was to do a 2.5" and run 32's, haven't quite decided what I want. The 3.25" kit is only $60 more and it's .75" higher and comes with the track bar drop bracket and front and rear sway bar links, seems like a much better deal.

I drive it most of the time just because I like to but I have another vehicle to drive as well so it doesn't have to be my DD I just like driving it

I've had the 2.5" for about a year now,other than changing the shocks I'm happy,but the shocks should have lasted more than a year.

I have the 3.25" lift, I like it, works and holding up nice. It came with a rear track bar bracket, and I did relocate the front trac bar after the lift was on to where the directions said. Pretty straight forward install

i was just in the same boat as yourself trying to decicde what i wanted and was going to do? i started out wanting the 2.5" then thought, well for $70 i get all these other parts!! well i got to talking around and some had said that going that far i may as well buy the 4", for another $130 ya get control arms and everything else and ya have plenty of clearance!! im running 33x10.50 BFG all terrains and, im not positive, but i think i have 3.07 gears and im getting 16-16.5 mph without having my speedo corrected. i did the t-case drop, and i have a slight vibe under hard excel, but it is what it is!!

I don't want to go any higher than 3.25" for sure. I don't want to drop the T-case and I don't want to risk having to get an SYE/cv yet (even though there is a slight possibility of needing one even with a 3.25")

I tried with out the drop first, and the second i pulled out of the drive way, i backed back in and installed it. I gess it could varie between jeeps...

Any updates to this thread would be appreciated. I have been holding off on ordering the 3.25 kit for a couple of weeks now. just curious how it worked out for you, bato.

And to kawiTJ, do you have the same vibe issue that blainejr has?
Or is that because he has the 4" kit vs. 3.25"

I dont have any vibe, i drive on the highway and cruise at 75 every day for about 30 miles. Like i said, before I put the transfer case drop on it did get a bad vabe. Put the drop on, and none at all. Also, make sure you put a jack under the skid plate to put the t-case drop on... i guess thats self explanitory...
