Arrow RE 4.5" LA w/Tri-Link - Exhaust?

What do you do about the exhaust if you're running the tri-link rear? I know Full Traction has an exhaust kit that is supposed to clear the rear arms but what about RE? I'm not a rocket scientist (no comments please) but I'm certain the OEM (or my Banks) wouldn't be able to clear. Is a custom exhaust the only way to go? Thoughts? Anyone done anything like this before?

i was thinking about that the other day while making my custom exhaust.. wouldnt bodylift make some space to help out?

I'm sure the OEM exhaust would work... otherwise they would mention something on the main site... but if not, you might need the Full-Traction exhaust system.

The OEM exhaust won't even work with RE's non-tri-linked long-arm suspension.

Custom exhaust is the only way you are going to go. If you are doing a long arm kit then plan around an extra 200 bucks for exhaust mods on top of your kit.

Before there was a bolt on exhaust kit for Full Traction, I had a custom exhaust bent for my rig. If you are going to a local exhaust shop, see if they have a '91 Geo Prism resonator laying around that they want to get rid of. I got my muffler for about $30, and it sounds great without being too loud. My guy also welded the cat and muffler together and the whole unit fits inside my transfer case skid... Pretty clean setup.

No Scout, just rout it through the frame thats what I'm workin on this weekend. O you could go the custom route, I would go custom and dump it before the axle.

My local muffler shop hooked me up for $80 total after I installed my longarm suspension, no need to buy a $200 fit from FT.

It was the biggest Thrush (brand) they could get into the limited amount of space. It took two tries though, the first Thrush muffler they installed was too small so it made my 4.0L sound like a ricer. The second muffler worked out fine, it's only marginally louder than the OE muffler. There's just not much room for a decent size muffler back there after installing a LA suspension.

Sorry for the delayed reply, but if you are still looking, this is the best shot I could get of the muffler/cat in the skid plate. (There isn't that much room in there!)

Yeah, it's really tight. That thing in the bottom of the pic is actually my lower control arm mount, just in case you had trouble with the angle of the pic. Let me know how yours turns/turned out.

I still haven't decided on which lift I want to go with as it changes every day. I'm still up in the air on about three different ways I (think) want to go.

I've been wondering can't you move the catalystic converter right after the first bend in front of the tranny skid and install a small muffler/resonator on the catalystic converters spot? and run the pipe off the side?

That's how mine is. Muffler and Cat are both tucked up under the belly pan.
