Re-centering my hood

Hello,

I have bought a 98 Sahara about 3 weeks ago and the hood is a little off center. There are pic included to show. I was wondering if there is a way to fix this and will it be easy or hard and costly? As you can see from the pic point of view the hood has shifted to the left and the latches are also off.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Marc

Is it possible to move the left clasp up? Where the clasp attaches to the hood and not the fender? I haven't looked to see My guess is that someone closed the hood on a tool.

If you pull the cowl panel off, you can get to the body side of the hood hinges. The holes are slotted so you can adjust the hood. As far off as yours is, I'd loosen all the fender-to-grill bolts as well and see if it'll relax. I hope nothing is bent.

Thank you both for the help.

Patrick I know what the cowl panel is but where are those fender-to-grill bolts located and how many are there? I know this might be a dumb question but I'm new to the jeep world.

Thanks again

Look under the front fender and look towards the headlights. The 3 big bolts going from the fender into the side of the Grill are what you are looking for.
Two of them are circled in Red in the picture. The Third is right above the two

Well, I removed the cowl and tried to adjust the hinges and loosed those bolts a little but still nothing made it better. Do you think that some metal is bent a little.

I have looked all over the frame in case it was worst but I couldn't find anything bent or off centered, as far as I can see it seems to be in great condition other than the hood.

On the side where the gap is wider (vehicle's right side), it looks like your grill is pushed in at the top by the headlight. It also wrinkled around the headlight and there is scrapped paint on the front of the hood.

How is the aim of the headlight on that side.

It either hit something or was hit. I'd take a further look around for more damage.

You're right; the grill is bent. I didn't see that.

I do believe the aim of that light is a little higher. I looked around and I could not see anymore damage but is there anyway to push the grill back out? What are my alternatives.

Thanks again guys
